A$AP Rocky faces up to 24 years if convicted of shooting A$AP Relli on the hand in 2021.

If convicted, prosecutors are planning to ask for 10-12 years.

His trial started this week in Los Angeles.

Before it did, Rocky turned down a plea deal that offered probation, a suspended sentence, and 180 days in jail -- which would have likely been less than 180 days.

Rocky turned down what amounts to a pretty sweat deal because he believes pleading guilty to a shooting would harm his endorsements.

Do you think that is true?
