Aaliyah's Family Signed NDA In Exchange For Rights To R Kelly's First Three Albums

R Kelly's family didn't want their daughter anywhere close to R. Kelly, who secretly married the late singer when she was 15.

Her father was particularly incensed by what was happening. 

However, he signed an NDA at about the time that Kelly and Aaliyah's marriage was annulled which prevented him from pursuing charges against Kells.

Speaking in last night's installment of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, Kelly's long-time bodyguard Gem Pratt said that in exchange for the NDA the family was sold the rights to R. Kelly's first three albums.

It's also been reported that the NDA included physical, not just sexual, abuse.

R Kelly, who's in the midst of a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking, hasn't commented on the allegations.
