Beyonce Opens Kobe Bryant's Celebration Of Life

Kobe Bryant fans have packed the Staples Center for today's Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant memorial.

Beyonce opened the tribute by singing “XO" alongside a chorus and multi-piece orchestra.

“I’m here because I love Kobe, and this was one of his favorite songs,” Beyoncé explained.

Her performance was followed by some words from Lakers superfan Jimmy Kimmel and then an emotional speech from Kobe's wife Vanessa. 

Vanessa has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company and the pilot she believes are responsible for the crash that killed Kobe, Gianna, and seven others.
