'Control' is a Big Sean track.
But the song is most famous for Kendrick Lamar's verse in which K.Dot goes after all of his contemporaries-- including Big Sean.
This all came up during Sean's Breakfast Club interview this morning. In it, the I Decided rapper asserts that he does think he's the best emcee -- but he's humble so he doesn't yell about it.
“I put that work in. You not gonna disrespect me. I’ll hop on any track with anybody, and I will not only stand my own. You gonna know that it’s my verse, and you gonna know that I’m in there," Sean said. "Expect for Control", Charlamagne Tha God interjected. "Kendrick washed you on 'Control."Sean wasn't hearing that. "Stop it," he said. "How long ago was that? What year was that? And I still don’t feel like I got washed, anyway.”
But CTG kept insisting.
“Your opinion. See that’s what I’m saying, you can’t fuck with some people’s opinions. You know why? ‘Cuz that’s gonna throw you off. You gotta focus on what’s at hand, what you feel in your heart and what you know.”Jump to the 14 minute mark to hear Sean and CTG talk 'Control'.
Did K.Dot wash Sean on the track?
