Last month, Bobby Shmurda accepted a seven year prison sentence as part of a global plea deal which included Rowdy Rebel and others.
Shmurda believes he could gotten a better deal, but says he stayed in the global plea to help Rowdy.
"I did it for Rowdy. They offered me five and offered Rowdy 12. They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven too. So, you know, I had to take one for the dawgs," he told Complex.Shmurda was officially sentenced today, and during the proceeding he made it clear he no longer wants to be a part of the deal.
“I was forced to take this sentence, I did not want to take this sentence,” Shmurda said, while requesting an adjournment in a Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday morning. “I was forced by my attorney to take this plea.”Shmurda appeared upset when the judge rejected his request for the adjournment. "They lied to me," he was heard saying.
TMZ reports he was also heard telling his lawyer he wanted to fire him.
Bobby's mom Leslie Pollard said she was disappointing with the ruling.
"You don't have any rights in that courtroom," she said. "It's heartbreaking. It's disappointing."Shmurda, 22, gave up the right to appeal as part of the plea. With time served and good behavior he could be out in closer to four years.
