Earlier this month,  Delonte West was spotted panhandling on the Richmond Highway in Alexandria, Virginia.

The former NBA-player has been on and off the streets, but it had appeared things were looking up for the 38-year-old after a tough run last year and he had been practicing his ball and talking about joining Ice Cube's Big3 league.

TMZ caught up with Delonte and asked him what was up with the panhandling.

"It is what it is," West said. "I got children. I'm in between jobs. People can help me as much as they can, but you know, as a man I gotta do what I gotta do for my babies."

West added that he still plans to play Big3 next season.

Fingers crossed that that works out for him.
