Very sad news from the Hip Hop world. Gerald "Buddie" Tiller of the group Dem Franchize Boyz has passed away after a fight against cancer.
Jermaine Dupri, who signed Dem Franchize Boyz to his So So Def label in 2005, confirmed his death on Instagram.
“They call me Doctor Doc. I prescribe what a n*gga need” #ripbuddy may your soul rest easy #demfranchiseboyz. #f*ckcancer," Dupri typed, quoting some of Buddie's bars.
Dem Franchize Boyz were best known for their hits, "Lean wit It, Rock wit It" and "I Think They Like Me", which were both on their 2006 album On Top of Our Game.
Dem Franchize Boyz, who hadn't had an album since 2008, had been set for Dupri’s So So Def 25th-anniversary tour last year, but that got canceled.
RIP, Buddie
