YNW Melly is in big trouble.

In February of 2022, he will finally go to trial for killing his crew members YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser in 2019 and faces life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.

During the latest episode of Off The Record, DJ Akademiks spoke to a former federal agent, who broke down Melly's best option to avoid conviction.

"His best defense is to plead insanity, as crazy as that sounds.  That would never work in federal court, but state court is a kangaroo court, bro."

Even though Melly has shown signs of insanity in the past, he would need to show more than just his interviews in which he claims multiple personalities.

"It's a Hail Mary.  "Because he needs doctor records, a lot of evidence to prove he's insane," he said, adding that even if it worked he would go to a mental asylum instead of prison.
