French Montana and Mac Miller were good friends who liked to party together. There's even a video of French, the late Mac, and the late Chinx smoking weed and sipping lean in the studio.

But French says he also knows when to say when, and believes that if he had been around Mac right before his death he could have perhaps saved Miller from his tragic fate. He also thinks those who were around Mac failed him.

"If people don't have anyone to keep them grounded it can go left. I just feel like they let him get away with whatever, you know, he choose to do," Montana said on BET's Raq Rants. "I feel like I have people that if I do something like that, like how I was to him, like a big brother, more like ...  He didn't have that around him. So if I did it that night. If I'd been around him a couple more nights I would have made him stop, but he didn't have nobody who was doing that."

The toxicology report on Miller came in yesterday and it confirmed that he died of an accidental OD, mainly cocaine, fentanyl, and alcohol.
