When JAY-Z launched Tidal he made a big deal about the Avengers-like roster of musical "co-owners" he had collected.
Hov sold Tidal last week to Twitter-man Jack Dorsey for $297 million in cash and stock in Dorsey's other company Square.
The 16 Tidal co-owners -- who include Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Usher, TI, Jack White, J. Cole, Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Alicia Keys, Daft Punk and Lil Wayne -- will get three percent of the sale, or $8.9 million.
It's unclear how much equity the 16 still have in Tidal, as Dorsey has only been described as buying a "significant majority" of the streaming service.
Nevertheless, not a bad payday for a product that never really got that far off the ground.
