In one of the more stunning turns of events in recent Hip Hop history, 21 Savage was arrested last Super Bowl Sunday in what we thought was his hometown of Atlanta and exposed as a British citizen.
Savage then spent ten days in an ICE detention center and was banned from working until last month when his work permit finally came through.
He can't leave the United States until his status is fully resolved and it looks like that won't happen for another couple of years.
According to TMZ, the backlog at the Immigration courts in Atlanta is such that nobody is getting hearings until 2022.
So no lucrative jaunts to Dubai for Savage. Although we guess there are worse countries than the U.S. for a foreign-born rapper to be stuck in for a few years.
