The track "Black Effect" from JAY-Z and Beyonce's The Carters' album Everything Is Love begins with about a minute of spoken word from Dr. L'Antoinette Stines, who says she is "renowned" in Jamaica for her "her artistry and wisdom."

While you might think Stines was credited and compensated for her contribution, she's saying she wasn't and is suing The Carters.

Stines alleges that she was initially contacted by JAY and Bey to provide dancers for a video promoting their upcoming tour.  When she met the famous couple they asked her to talk on tape about her views on love.  Stines claims the Carters told her they would only use her spoken words in the promotional video they had hired her to work on.

So she was shocked when she later heard her voice featured prominently on the album.

Stines does concede she hastily signed a contract that covered her services on the day of the shoot.  However, she doesn't believe her spoken word performance was part of that agreement.

She is seeking credit and unspecified financial damages.
