The NFL will see the first fruits of their deal with JAY-Z and Roc Nation tomorrow with a Jennifer Lopez/Shakira Super Bowl halftime show that Hov played a hand in bringing together.

As part of the deal, the league has also pledged to spend $100 million over ten years in social justice programs.

Jay's deal with the league rubbed some folks the wrong way because they don't think the league will ever be doing right on the social justice front as long as Colin Kaepernick remains unemployed.

Hov addresses that in a new interview with The New York Times.

“No one is saying [Kaepernick] hasn’t been done wrong. He was done wrong. I would understand if it was three months ago. But it was three years ago and someone needs to say, ‘What do we do now — because people are still dying?," JAY said. "We are two adult men who disagree on the tactic but are marching for the same cause."

JAY also conceded that the deal with the NFL probably dimmed some of his fans' views of him and he's OK with that.

“As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members, then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press,” he said.
