Jay-Z is notorious for waving off photographers and the paparazzi.
One of the last times he did it was over the weekend at the annual Roc Nation Pre-Grammy Brunch.
Now, in a newly released interview with TIDAL, Jay explained why he doesn't like to be filmed, saying that he just comes from a different time.
“Yeah, we don’t come from that school. We come from the don’t-you-ever-record-us school,"said the Brooklyn rapper, before quoting his lyrics from his song "Oceans."
"See me in sh*t you never saw / If it wasn’t for these pictures you wouldn’t see me at all," stated Jay in his interview.
In another part of the sitdown, he spoke about the Grammys missing a moment by snubbing his 4:44 album.
