JAY-Z sat down with New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet for a big multi-media interview.

He discussed all sorts of things in the chat -- which you can read and/or watch here -- but most relevant to Hip Hop fans are probably his comments on two of his most famous relationships: Beyonce and Kanye.

On 'Ye.

"I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he's my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It's a complicated relationship with us," he told Baquet. We're both entertainers. It's always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother."

He then acknowledged that the widely reported tension between the two -- which came to a head during Kanye's famous Sacramento rant a little more than a year -- is very real.

"In the long relationship, you know, hopefully when we're 89 we look at this six months or whatever time and we laugh at that."

As for Beyonce, he confirmed that he had been working on that much-rumored joint album with her. However, those sessions became her album Lemonade. While they still have more material togehter, whether they will ever drop a Mr. & Mrs. joint is in doubt.

"We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together," he explained. "And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music."

Any interest in that joint album?
