Kendrick Lamar Busts Right Through Projections With 'DAMN.'

The initial projections for Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. had it moving 450,000 sales plus streaming in its first week.

In ended up doing exactly 610,417 SPS, according to Hits Daily Double. Of those, 361,534 were album sales (as opposed to streams.)

That makes it the best selling album of all genres in 2017, topping Drake's More Life, which did 505,000.

It is also the third best selling album since 2016, trailing Drake's VIEWS (1,040,000) and Beyonce's Lemonade (653,000.)

The other big rap release last week was Playboi Carti's self titled debut album. It did 28,051 SPS.
