Lil Durk's new album Deep Thoughts dropped today, March 28.
But you won't see him at any album release parties or giving any in-person interviews since he's behind bars on a murder-for-hire charge. Durk is accused of organizing a hit on Quando Rondo, which killed Rondo's cousin Saviay'a Robinson in 2022.
Still, Durk was able to message his fans about the album and said he'd be home soon.
"I WASN’T GON PUT THIS OUT BUT THEN I REMEMBERED THE STREETS NEED THIS," he wrote. "NOT BEING OUTSIDE WITH Y’ALL WHEN I DROP IS HARD, BUT I KNOW I WILL FEEL Y’ALL LOVE AND ENERGY THROUGH THESE WALLS. THANK Y’ALL FOR ROCKING WITH ME THROUGH EVERYTHING. I TELL THESE STORIES SO OUR VOICE IS NEVER LOST. I’M COMING HOME SOON STRONGER THAN EVER. INSHALLAH, THE VOICE. LOVE, DURK."
The rapper's trial was supposed to be on January 7, but it was delayed until October.
It was pushed back after an FBI agent in Chicago said that Durk is involved in another murder-for-hire in the killing of Stephon Mack, said to be the former leader of the Gangster Disciples. But Durk hasn’t been charged for that murder yet.
Do you see him coming home soon like he says? The feds have 20,000 pages of evidence against him in the Saviay'a Robinson case.
