Fat Joe did three months in prison in 2013 for failing to file his tax returns.
Lil Wanye was his neighbor in Miami at the time.
Joe asked Wayne, who had done eight months in Rikers in 2010 on a gun charge, to tell him about what jail was like.
Then Wayne gave him some advice.
“I went to see him. He lives across the street from me in Miami. I was like, ‘Yo, Wayne, what’s up?’ And he was like, ‘Nah, man, I’m just telling you right now, be humble,’” he remembered. “I said, ‘How do you do it?’ He said, ‘Just be humble, bro. Don’t go in there on somethin’. If you be humble, they’ll respect you," Joe explained on Red Table Talk.
