Mac from No Limit, who's been locked up for 21 years for a crime he says he's innocent of, was granted parole today by unanimous vote of the Louisiana Board of Pardons and Committee on Parole.

The 43-year-old was serving a 30-year to life manslaughter sentence he got for killing   19-year-old Barron C Victor, Jr, who was trying to break up a fight at a club.  The case was marred by accusations that the police intimidated witnesses into fingering Mac as the shooter.

“Today marks the end of a long fight for justice,” Mac's wife Angelique Phipps said after hearing of the boards vote. “Today we are looking towards a brighter future for our family. We are grateful to all of those who have never wavered in their support of Mac’s innocence.”

Before getting locked up, Mac released two solo albums and one album as part of the 504 Boyz on No Limit.  His debut album Shell Shocked was a moderate hit.

He doesn't have a release date yet, but it should be soon.
