The mystery of who pistol-whipped and robbed Tekashi 6ix9ine has been somewhat solved.
Last week, police arrested Anthony Jamel Ellison for the crime. He is being charged with one count of conspiracy to obstruct commerce by robbery, a count of obstructing commerce by robbery and a count of carrying a firearm to commit a crime.
On July 22, 6ix9ine was returning to his Brooklyn home from a video shoot when another car boxed him in. Multiple hooded gunmen then pistol-whipped the troll rapper, knocking him out.
When he came to, they were demanding money and threatening to kill him. So he took them inside his home, where they took $750k in jewelry and between $15k and $20k in cash. Tekashi's daughter and baby mama were there at the time but unharmed.
6ix9ine and his manager Shotti have both said that they believe the robbery was an inside job. Others have speculated it was a publicity stunt.
With an actual arrest, the latter becomes less likely.
