Meek Mill's 2008 Conviction Thrown Out

Meek Mill is no longer a felon.

Today, the Pennsylvania Superior Court threw out his 2008 gun conviction. He'll be granted a new trial with a new judge.

Meek and his team have long accused (with much evidence) that his current judge, Genece Brinkley, has been biased against him.

Meek has a good chance of prevailing during a new trial because the cop who testified against him in his original trial has since been found to be dirty. In fact, there's a good chance prosecutors will decline to re-charge him.

"I'd like to thank the Pennsylvania Superior Court judges for their wisdom and their transparency in reviewing my case, unanimously overturning my conviction and granting me a new trial.  The past 11 years have been mentally and emotionally challenging, but I'm ecstatic that justice prevailed," Meek said. This positive outcome wouldn't have been possible without the support of my family, my attorneys, Jay Z, Desiree Perez, Michael Rubin, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and my supporters who have stood with me through the ups and downs."

Congrats to Meek.
