Rappers including Gucci Mane, J. Cole, Kanye West and a Tribe Called Quest have shouted out Nia Long in their bars.

The 45-year old actress was on Larry King earlier this week, and during her chat she addressed why rappers have a such a long history of mentioning her.

"I grew up when Puffy Combs was running nightclubs in New York City," Long explained. "And Boyz In The Hood [which she starred] was out and Heavy D ... you had Biggie Smalls, you had Tupac ... this was an era when we were all growing up in the business. And we kind of changed the game a little bit ... We had a space to do our thing, and I think that the rappers were just kinda feeling me along with that."
King then asked Long specifically about the J. Cole 'No Role Modelz' lyric "My only regret is too young for Nia Long."

"He's really not too young, he just doesn't know it," a smiling Long said of the 31-year old.
Her fiancé, 38-year old ex-NBA player Ime Udoka, might disagree with that.
