On May 16th, The Crips filed to trademark the Nipsey Hussle slogan "The Marathon Continues" through a holding company.

On May 28th, Nipsey's brother  Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom filed a trademark application for the same phrase.

Nipsey was a Crip and Sam is looking to be the administrator of his late brother's estate. Sam seeks the trademark on "The Marathon Continues" for  “charitable activities and the doing of good deeds for others and the promotion of ethical and character values.”

The Crips want it to promote charitable events and gang intervention.

The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office will decide which application wins out.
