Nipsey Hussle's Estate is Still Suing the Crips

Last year, we learned that the Crips and Nipsey Hussle's brother Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom had each filed a trademark application for Nip's catchphrase "the marathon continues" setting up a bizarre and incestuous legal fight.

It appeared that the Crips backed off their trademark shortly after when Asghedom threatened to sue them. In fact, the street gang apologized for their actions

"There will absolutely be no trademark legal battle between their organization and Blacc Sam, brother of the late Nipsey Hussle," the organization told The Blast last year. "[The Crips] respectively vows to support the wishes of Lauren London and the Asghedom family... We realize that our actions may have been offensive and we have reached out to his family, respectively Nip's sister, Samantha Smith."

However, when it came time to withdraw their trademark, the Crips never showed up in court and stopped being responsive to the estate's legal team.

It's unclear if this is due to them being gangsta or incompetent, but Asgedom isn't taking any chances.  On Saturday, he officially sued Crips, LLC over the rights to "The Marathon Continues" slogan.

The estate is seeking monetary damages and a judgement that will order the Crips to destroy any merchandise that uses the catchphrase.
