Snoop Dogg stopped by for a big Howard Stern interview today. During the chat, he discussed his relationship with Martha Stewart (they really are good friends) and meeting Madonna through 2Pac.

He also spoke about his feature on Katy Perry's 2010 smash hit "California Gurls".

Snoop agreed with Stern that he was a bigger star at the time, making his decision to jump on to her pop song a "gigantic" one. But he ultimately did it because he liked the way Perry wanted to hold it down for their shared state of California.

"She called and said, 'I got this song that I need you on. Because I'm tired of hearing that New York song with Alicia Keys and JAY-Z. I need something to be made for California.' I'm like 'That's how you feel?' I thought that was gangsta that she felt that way," Snoop explained.

Snoop also said that Perry's star is now at least equal to his, and he's proud that he helped her get there with his "California Gurls" co-sign.
