The Weeknd And Daft Punk Sued For Stealing "Starboy"

The Weeknd and Daft Punk are being sued for stealing major elements of the title track and lead single off of the Weekend's 2016  album Starboy.

Singer-songwriter Yasminah wants $5 million because she believes her 2009 track "Hooyo" provides the sonic blueprint for "Starboy", citing in her filings that the songs have the same hook, same key, similar tempo, and both tracks feature prominent claps on beats 2 and 4. 

"Hooyo"'s producers have already settled with the Weeknd and Daft Punk over the similarities, but Yasminah wants to go court (or settle) because she didn't get any of that cut. She's seeking $5 million.
