Young Dolph was a hero in Memphis.

But not to all of Memphis.

Earlier this week, a mural of Dolph -- who was shot and killed in his hometown last November -- was defaced.

A mural dedicated to Young Dolph was defaced overnight in South Memphis. The artist who created it did so at the request of Dolph's family and was hoping to have it finished by his birthday next week.💔🕊🐬 LLD pic.twitter.com/4BEMw4m0B6

The mural had been commissioned by Dolphin's family and was supposed to be completed next week.  July 27 would have been Dolph's 37th birthday.

Defacing memorials to dead rappers is, unfortunately, a country-wide problem.  The late Nipsey Hussle and the late Prodigy have also gotten similar treatment.
