Earlier this year, Billboard instituted new rules to combat chart manipulation.
Travis Scott is one of the artists who it's believed will be affected by the rules, which include setting the minimum price for digital albums at $7.99, and requiring that digital albums sold via an artist, label, or other official web store must now be redeemed in order to be chart eligible.
Perhaps that's why he's keeping all his options open by getting back into beat making.
“I’m super into producing, making the beats again, and getting the sound back. I’m making beats and music for other people, and even for myself," Laflame said. "I’ve been really into beatmaking. Because I think a lot of beats are kind of the same. Like, you’re hearing a lot of the same beats … so that process [of beatmaking] is what makes it exciting to make the songs.”
