A Tribe Called Quest’s latest album We Got It From Here…. Thank You 4 Your Service is slated to hit number one on all album charts. It was the legendary group's first LP in 18 years.

Hits Daily Double reports We Got It From Here has sold 136,000 units sales plus streaming.

The project has picked up stellar reviews, and Tribe's impassioned SNL performance last weekend  proved that the Queens crew haven’t lost a step while being apart

This album holds special significance, not only because it’s the group’s last, but also because Phife passed away from diabetes complications after it was recorded, and his presence is heavily felt throughout the whole project.

After Tribe’s 1998 album The Love Movement, all four members parted ways for both personal and professional reasons. But a 2015 performance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon got their creative juices flowing again, and they decided to start working on the new album right away.”

“When we did that performance, the synergy between the four of us was crazy,” said group member Jarobi in an interview with Billboard. “It was such an ill moment and [Q-Tip and Phife] both had a feeling they needed to reconcile.”
The 136K units Tribe moved first week has only been topped in the Hip Hop/R&B space this year by Drake, Beyonce, Frank Ocean and (probably) Kanye West.
