Asking rappers (or anyone) if they prefer 2Pac or Biggie has been a thing for years.

Will.i.am just gave an interesting answer:  He doesn't like either.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman explained why.

"I'm such a Tribe Called Quest De La Soul head, that I don't like 2Pac and Biggie.  That kind of music doesn't speak to my spirit.  So when there's a conversation like that I like Boogie Down Productions, KRS-1. If it's like "2Pac or Biggie" I like KRS-1.  Why those two?  If it's 2Pac and Biggie, I don't hold them up like that.  I like Eric B and Rakim up like that.  2Pac's dope.  It's not like I don't think he's dope.  It's just the music it spoke to the projects.  My escape is De La Tribe, not the projects.  It took me out the projects, while I was still in the projects ... that was my path out.  It took my out of the projects while I was in the projects for the world it painted for me.  It kept me safe, while I was in the projects.  Had I loved 2Pac and Biggie while I was in the projects, I probably would have been stuck in the projects still," Will expalined.

Are you feeling that explanation?
