After more than a year away from the octagon, Conor McGregor recently announced he's going to return to sanctioned fighting.
The glow is a bit off of the Irishman after loses to Khabib Nurmagomedov and (as a boxer) to Floyd Mayweather.
However, Conor may have a novel way to hype up his next fight and it involves Floyd's favorite frenemy 50 Cent.
"I’d have to probably say 50 Cent, I’d like to fight him," Conor said a press conference in Moscow. "Throughout the course of the Mayweather build-up I used him as a tool, a promotional tool on the free also, I knew he was linked to Floyd so I tied him in also and he responded big time and we capitalized on that audience so I was very thankful.
But then after that he began a little tirade against me on social media, particularly Instagram where he’d make these memes about me constantly.
Every time I’d go onto the internet I’d see 50 Cent had posted up some new stupid meme and I wrote one of the memes - ‘old man on the internet making memes’ and then he blocked me. "So he’s had to block me, and I still see sometimes, I still get tagged in - other people saying he’s saying this and his saying that. "So I’d like to have a knock-off with 50 yeah, so if you’re listening 50 - let’s get it going bud."
For Fif's part, he's already posited that he can take Conor in a streetfight:
“Right now, when he’s at 154 pounds? I’m 225 right now,” the rapper told the U.K publication Express last year. “They don’t understand this is heavyweight sh*t going on around here. I hit them, they see a white light. They hear a message. Slow down, boy. They think Jesus is talking to them ... Outside the confinements of the sport. If you got into a [street] fight, it’s a different thing.”
A streetfight and an octagon are obviously different things. Do you think Fif would agree to step in a ring with McGregor?
