50 Cent To Continue His Support Of LGBT Youth With Benefit Concert

50 Cent has been fortunate in his life. Now he is trying to spread some of that fortune to one of society's most marginalized population groups.

Fiddy will be among the artists performing at the annual Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home For The Holidays concert, which raises money and spreads awareness for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth homelessness.

Old schoolers Salt-n-Pepper will also be on the bill, along with Emily West, Liv Warfield, and Dixie Chick Natalie Maines.

The concert will take place December 6 in New York and is being hosted by Rosie O’Donnell.

This isn't the first time 50 Cent has reached out to the LGBT community. Last year, the G-Unit leader mentored a transgender teen on SundanceTV’s Dream School.

50 hasn't always been so open to gay rights, and made disparaging remarks about homosexuals early in his career. However,  the 39-year old says coming to terms with his late mother's lesbianism has helped him to evolve on the issue.

We so often write about the trouble rappers get into when they aren't behind the mic. It's great to be able to feature a story about such a big figure in Hip Hop trying to make a different.
