Last month, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer broke down how important 50 Cent is to Starz in his quarterly conference call, highlighting all the new subscriptions Power Book III: Raising Kanan brought in.
"In fact, two weeks after the quarter ended, Power Book III: Raising Kanan debuted to the second biggest Starz original series premiere ever, driving over 800,000 global subscriber gross ads in the first week alone and an 80% spike in viewership on the app," he said.
Despite 50 Cent's importance to the pay channel, it doesn't look like Lionsgate consulted Fif when they put Starz on the market.
50 reacted to an article about how news of the sale was spiking Starz stocks by claiming that he was actually the one juicing the price.
"TF is this, 🤷🏽♂️No Raising Kanan, No BMF, what do you think made their stock jump ? I gave them two hits back to back Smh 😆these people be crazy, smart as hell but no common sense. #
