Earlier this year, Lloyd Banks said he was retiring.

Then he took it back, claiming he announced his retirement just to prove the music press will write about anything but music.

While Banks is still rapping, he has undergone a change in his career.

According to an announcement 50 Cent made on Instagram this morning, Banks is off of G-Unit Records.

50 has clashed with Banks in the past, but it doesn't look like there are lingering hard feelings from the breakup.

In fact, Fif promoted Banks's new mixtape in the caption of the announcement.

"Check out my boy Lloyd bank$.New Mix tape coming soon ! Independence Day, he is doing his own thing and you know it’s gonna be loaded with bars. (Check him out) PLK 🤨get the strap"

Banks had been on G-Unit Records since 2003
