50 Cent Wins 'Power' Lawsuit

50 Cent has taken some huge courtroom Ls over the last several years.

But he just picked up a big W.

Earlier this week, a judge threw out a lawsuit filed against Fif by screenwriters  R. Byron Hord and Curtis Scoon, who wrote a pilot script for a TV show called Dangerous in late 2009. Although they never met with Fif, they say the script got to him through others and then he ripped it off for his STARZ' hit Power.

In their suit, Hood and Scoon called attention to similarities in plot and dialogue.

However, the court ruled the similarities were public domain tropes about drug dealing and organized crime. "One need only look to such shows and movies as The Wire, Empire, Breaking Bad, Narcos, Weeds, Carlito's Way, American Gangster, New Jack City, Scarface and Paid in Full," the judge said.

It's the second time Fif and STARZ have fended off such a copyright attack.

In September, a judge dismissed a $200 million lawsuit from writer Larry Johnson who claimed Power infringed on his novel Tribulation of a Ghetto Kid and its sequel.
