Ja Rule and his Fyre Festival partner Billy McFarland are now being investigated by the FBI and the United States Attorney's Office for possible wire, mail and securities fraud.

Additionally, the New York Times reports there are still a lot of festival vendors who haven't been paid, including a caterer who is owed $134,000.

On top of that, the rock band Blink-182, who canceled their Fyre Festival performance before things went South, still has some of their equipment stuck in Bahamas' customs.

But Stacey Richman, Ja's lawyer, said things just went wrong at the festival, and her client didn't try to scam anyone.

"[Jah] would never participate in anything fraudulent," she said. "It's simply not in his DNA."
Ja said the same thing in a discussion with employees which was recorded and leaked to news organizations like the Times.

"That's not fraud, that's not fraud," he said on the conference call when discussing the promotion of the festival. "False advertising, maybe—not fraud."
We'll have to see where this FBI investigation goes because it could land Mr. Rule back behind bars. If you remember, he got out of prison for a gun charge and tax evasion in 2013.
