We're going to be getting some new music from Lil Wayne, now that he's finally free from Birdman and Cash Money.
But that new music probably won't include his good buddy Ace Hood.
Ace and Wayne do have some music in the can. But Ace isn't going to release it. He explained why in an interview with HipHopDX
“That’s my boy for life,” Ace said. “Me and Wayne got records too that I haven’t put out yet. I got tracks sitting. I got a record with Wayne that I haven’t put out yet. The truth is the content is different from the path that I’m on, but it’s a great record … I’d rather do something fresh.”
Ace also spoke on Wayne leaving Cash Money, which is something Ace went through a few years ago.
“That’s another example of trusting the process,” The free agent said of Weezy’s split from the label they used to share. “You gotta trust it even when the situation is blurry or hazy sometimes it’s important to just create space for yourself and settle yourself as much as possible. He’s the GOAT to me, so to see him out of his contract is a blessing.”
