It's safe to say Nicki Minaj's explosive verse on Kanye West's "Monster" was her star turn.
According to Amber Rose, Nicki owes that stardom to her.
Rose told Van Lathan that she acted as A&R woman for all of her famous rapper boyfriends and, in that capacity, she got Nicki on "Monster".
The homie Amber Rose said she’s helped Kanye, Wiz, and 21 Savage with their music before, so rapping isn’t foreign to her. She even says it was her idea to put Nicki on Monster. Legendary verse. New Higher Learning now https://t.co/ip3KmEASkF pic.twitter.com/l3AGf46hdJ

"A have a good ear. I've A&R a bunch of projects. All of my boyfriends. I put Nicki on 'Monster'. He didn't know who Nicki was back then. I had Nicki pull up to the studio and I put her on 'Monster. She was still coming up, and I saw her in the studio and I said, ‘Oh my god, this bitch is f*cking talented as hell.’ And then I went back to Kanye and I was like, ‘You need to get this girl Nicki on ‘Monster.’ And he was like, ‘Who? What? No. I’m no.' And I said, ‘Just let her pull up, what’s it going to hurt?’ She pulled up. We had a conversation. She heard the song and then she came back the next day with the verse.”
Amber confirmed that Ye almost took Nicki off the song because she was too good.
“He told me that the same day. He’s like, ‘How the f*ck did you bring in a bitch that killed me on my own song?'” Rose revealed.
Does this all sound true?
