Things are relatively good between Birdman and Lil Wayne right now. But they weren't in 2015 when Lil Wayne's tour bus was shot up after leaving an Atlanta club appearance.
Jimmy Carlton Winfrey (aka PeeWee Roscoe) was arrested for the shooting, which luckily didn't injure anyone. He pled guilty and got a 20-year sentence, but eventually beat the charge on a technicality. He's currently in custody awaiting a new trial or plea deal.
Now the Cobb County DA is considering charging Birdman and Young Thug in the shooting. They have evidence, obtained from a civil trial, that the pair conspired with Winfrey: Thugger called Winfrey multiple times in the minutes prior to the shooting and Birdman said this to him on a recorded jailhouse phone call.
"Time for you to come out here and get your money," Birdman told Winfrey. "You did everything you could do boss ... it’s eye-opening. (It's) strictly business, man."
TMZ spoke to a source close to Birdman, who denied Baby was involved in the shooting:
A source close to Birdman says the phone call was in no way referring to the bus shooting. Even further, we're told Birdman doesn't believe Winfrey is the shooter ... and he would never associate with someone who tried to harm Wayne.
Thug has yet to respond to the resurrected charges that he tried to do Wayne in. He is expected to drop the Weezy trolling Barter 7 shortly.
