In September of 2018, we learned that the Cobb County District Attorney might still charge Young Thug and Birdman in the 2015 shooting up of Lil Wayne's tour bus in Atlanta. Since then, there have been no updates on the case against Thug and Birdman.
Nobody was killed or seriously injured in the incident and Young Thug's former tour manager Jimmy Carlton Winfrey (aka PeeWee Roscoe) was arrested for the shooting. Later that year, he pled guilty and got a 20-year sentence. He has since been freed on a technicality and will be re-tried.
Winfrey called Young Thug eight times in the 12 minutes prior to the shooting and Winfrey spoke to Birdman after he was locked up. Both Thug and Birdman were publically beefing with Wayne during the time of the shooting.
Alvin Lewis, who was Wayne's bus driver, says he suffered spinal cord, rotator cuff and psychological injuries in the shooting. He is pursuing a lawsuit. He claims that although prosecutors have kept him informed about Winfrey's long going case he is always rebuffed when he asks about Birdman and Young Thug's involvement.
He is now alleging that Birdman and Thug have struck a secret deal with prosecutors.
If they did, there would certainly be some street code implications.
