There was big article in the New York Times today about Bobby Shmurda's legal limbo. He still hasn't made his $2 million bail, and it's looking increasingly unlikely he will. In part, because his record label won't put down any collateral.

Shmurda criticized Epic's non-support last week. He doubled down on that in the Times article, adding that he plans to leave Epic (if) he beats the charges and gets out.

"I’m going to try my best to go back on the deal," Bobby said. "If not, I’ll give them their music and bounce."

Matthew Middleton, the 20-year old's entertainment lawyer, also chimed in, claiming Epic has "made their money back at least two or three times over" on the Brooklyn emcee.

"These companies for years have capitalized and made millions and millions of dollars from kids in the inner city portraying their plight to the rest of the world,” Mr. Middleton continued. "To take advantage of that and exploit it from a business standpoint and then turn your back is disingenuous, to say the least."
