Protests in various U.S. cities continue for George Floyd, a black man who died in Minneapolis this week after a white police officer knelt on his neck.
A lot of rappers have expressed their outrage over Floyd's death, with Juelz Santana making a song about him.
Cardi B talked about the protests in an Instagram video that she shared today. Protests in Minneapolis have grown more intense since they started on Wednesday. There's been looting, clashes with officers, and the protesters set a Minneapolis police precinct on fire Thursday night.
The "Bodak Yellow" rapper believes looting is a good thing, because it forces people to take the protests seriously.
"Seeing people looting and going extremely outraged, it makes me feel like yes finally, finally, motherf*ckas is gonna hear us now," said Cardi. "And as much as people is so against it, at this point, I feel like I’m not against it even though it do scare me and I don’t want anybody to get hurt. But it’s just really frustrating because police brutality been going on even way before I was born, but it has been more visual ever since social media started getting poppin."
"How many peaceful protests have we seen?" she continued. "How many trending hashtags have we seen? These hashtags keep repeating themself. I feel like I’ve done videos against police brutality—this is like my seventh time. I’ve been doing police brutality videos ever since my teeth been f*cked up and the only sh*t that changed has been my f*cking teeth."
