It looks like Cardi B, French Montana and more are facing a copyright infringement lawsuit.
Kirk Edwards, a.k.a. DJ JMK is suing Cardi B, French Montana, Yo Gotti, City Girls, and Master P, for infringing on his copyright for the song "Choppa Style."
Supposedly, all artists involved knew about the song being sampled in their songs, but when it came time to pay up, no one paid.
According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Cardi B, and City Girls sampled a portion of 'Choppa' last year for their mega-hit, "Twerk."
JMK also says Yo Gotti and French Montana sampled it on "Oh Yeah" in 2017.
DJ JMK made the beat back in 2000 and says he's now suing for copyright infringement.
We'll update you once we get more information.
