Carmelo Anthony And La La Anthony Have Split

Carmelo Anthony is still a member of the Knicks.

But he's no longer with his wife.

TMZ reports Melo and La La Anthony have split after almost seven years of marriage. La La moved out of the family's home last week and has her own place in NYC now.

Melo's rapidly deteriorating relationship with the Knicks and team president Phil Jackson may have contributed to the break up. TMZ's sources say the stress of the disastrous 2016-2017 Knicks season weighed heavily on Melo's marriage.

Additionally, La La and Melo have agreed that their ten year old son Kiyan stays in New York no matter what happens.  So if Anthony is traded to anyone but the Nets -- and that's looking increasingly likely -- the pair would no longer be able to have a traditional marriage.

In 2015, La La was accused of cheating on Carmelo with the rapper Maino, but there is no indication that had anything to do with the split.
