Chance The Rapper is getting sued for a sample he used on his track 'Windows,' which is on his 2012 mixtape 10 Day.

Jazz musician Abdul Wali Muhammad filed the federal lawsuit yesterday in Chicago accusing the rapper of "blatant and willful infringement" on the 1980 copyrighted song "Bridge Through Time.'

Muhammad has requested that a federal judge order Chance to stop "copying, distributing, performing, selling or offering to sell" 'Windows.'

Chance The Rapper says he never intended to commercial sell the 10 Day mixtape. However it did pop up on Apple Music earlier this year, something Chance claims he didn't approve.

In light of Muhammad's recent suit, that Tweet becomes very interesting.

Speaking of interesting, Muhammad has a notable background. He was previously named Eric P. Saunders, and was a musician and composer who also scored for television.

He's since changed his name to Abdul Wali Muhammad and practices criminal and civil rights law in New York.
