We got a hint that the first-week projections for J. Cole's "KOD" could be big when the album's title track broke Spotify's opening day streaming record.
The projections just came in, and they are fairly large. Hits Daily Double is predicting 375-390k SPS with 140-155k in traditional album sales.
Still, that's a step down from the 492,000 with 363,000 in traditional sales Cole's 2016 album 4 Your Eyez Only did in its first week. Instead, it's more in line with the 371K first week of his 2014 album 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
It's also a lot less than what Kendrick Lamar's and Drake's more recent albums did. (603K for DAMN. and 1.04 million for Views.)
It will be Cole's fifth straight number one album.
