RondoNumbaNine was on his way in 2013, when his video for 'Hang Wit Me' racked up close to 10 million views on YouTube.
But in February of 2014, the-then-17-year-old drill rapper and his accomplice Courtney Ealy went to a neighboring South Side of Chicago apartment complex looking for revenge for a previous shooting.
They caught livery driver Javan Boyd, who was waiting to pick up a customer, and shot him seven times. He died in the hospital. Rondo's prints were found on Boyd's vehicle and the shooting was captured on Chicago Housing Authority video surveillance.
In May of this year, Rondo and Ealy were convicted of first degree murder.
This week they got their sentences: Rondo 39 years and Ealy 38.
