Chris Gotti Says They Had Cash Money Name Before Birdman Did

Chris Gotti spoke on him and the Murder Inc crew having the Cash Money name before Birdman made it famous. [Jump to 6:30]

"That's where the name came from, New Jack City, they was the Cash Money brother," Gotti said of the name.  "We was the Cash Money Clique.  Nah, there was no trademark this is Hip Hop," he told Mrecktv.

Chris was then asked if ever thought about pursuing legal action against Birdman.

"Not at all.  You think it, but there was no way," he said, adding that he has nothing but respect for Birdman and company.  "I definitely made jokes.  It was all good, but it's Hip Hop.  We had it but they took it somewhere different.  That wasn't us at all.  Yeah, the lettering was similar, but they put more bling into it."

Or perhaps he realized what a long and arduous process suing Baby is.
