In March, Eddie Murphy teased that there would be a sequel to his 1988 comedy classic Coming To America.

Right after doing so, he deleted his entire Twitter page. This suggested Murphy didn't get what a stir his Tweet would cause and called into question whether a sequel was really on the table.

Variety has now confirmed that a Coming To America sequel is a real thing.

The movie will be scripted by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and directed by Jonathan Levine, who was behind the camera for The Night Before, 50/50, and Warm Bodies.

Eddie Murphy is involved in the development of the sequel, but there is no confirmation he will star in it. To say nothing of Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Shari Headley and the rest. There are no details on a release schedule for the project.

Would you be hype for a Coming To America sequel with Murphy?

What about without him?
