Danny Brown Says Younger Artists Shouldn't Complain When Older Heads Hate Their Music

"If I don't like it, I don't like it, that don't mean that I'm hating."

That's a line from Common's 2000 song "The 6th Sense," and it's the same reasoning that Danny Brown used when he spoke on rap's generational divide.

The way Brown sees it, younger artists have it all wrong when they say older fans are hating on them when criticizing their music.

“I want to say something to the young n*ggas, ‘cause they always getting upset” said Brown on The Danny Brown Show. “They always think that older n*ggas are hating on them. It’s not that the older n*ggas are hating on y’all, we just got to recognize quality. Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s better … The new rap don’t hit like the old rap … Nobody’s going to make a better rap album out of y’all n*ggas than [Raekwon’s Only Built 4] Cuban Linx.

Brown also came down on New York drill artists a while ago.
